Questions 6-10
Question 10 (week 15)
THE TRICKY QUESTION:
You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?
Now I took his position, which means he is in third place and I'm in the second place :)
BLOG QUESTION:
How strict should the law be with people who drink and drive? Would you ever drink and drive? What situation could justify driving under the influence?
These kind of "crimes", I don't think is the same thing as the really heavy ones. This is small "everyday" stuff, and of course you can - you have to - punish them by giving them a speeding ticket or notes in their driving licences. There are way to many accidents made when alcohol is involved and you should fight against drunken driving, try to make it stop! If you could save someone's life, and be definitely sure that noone would be killed, then I think it would be OK to drive when you have been drinking. But just then, and never again!
Question 9 (week 14)
THE TRICKY QUESTION:
A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?
I don't know, I really don't get this.. It doesn't make sense at all!
BLOG QUESTION: Should the death penalty exist as a punishment for murder or terrorism? Why/why not?
No, as I wrote in my last entry, I think you should "cure" these criminals since I find it as they need help. Something has gone completely wrong in their minds! Cure - not punish! Help them! Therefore, death penalty would be wrong for me because it's a punishment. I don't think anyone deserve to get killed. Noone! And I really can't understand those who want to kill a criminal. I mean - they die. So what? They never suffer. You just get them out of the way and they never get the chance to say they're sorry or to think of what they've done. For who are you killing the criminal? Is it "in the name om justice" or because it would feel better for example the husband of the woman who got killed, as a revange?
Question 8 (week 13)
THE TRICKY QUESTION:
A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms: The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?
Haha! That's easy! At least I know that I would have chosen the third room. I mean, how many lions do you think actually are alive after three years without food?
BLOG QUESTION:
Should the main purpose of prison be punishment or rehabilitation? Why?
This is a quite interesting question. I think that you should send the criminals to rehabilitation, because after all - it isn't a normal behaviour to kill someone. I don't think that you are OK if you are capable to do such a thing. Something isn't right ;) I also think that some people do this because of the exitement (it's illegal!). If you stop yelling at someone that's teasing you, he become tired. So I think if you stop make that kind of resistance with todays criminals and instead help them out in rehabilitation, I think it could be better. People associate crimes with "something's not right with his brain" and to do crimes would not be that "cool" anymore. "You know - it's for people with mental illnesses." You don't want to hang around with them in big hospitals! The criminals think it's much cooler to be one of the gangsters in the prison (were they also pep up each other and maybe discuss best ways to commit a crime).
What's more, I think that the community is "damaged" when people commit crimes, because it become more "OK", more usual (especially for youths) - "Everybody else does it to, so why can't I?". We really need to stop this and make them react and think. "Hey, I shouldn't do this, I'm smart enough to do something else instead." But how do we do that?
Question 7 (week 12)
This one is easy! I would like to be famous for being a god dog trainer with a lot of knowledge in dog's behaviour and in etology. I would be famous for the way that i train my dogs - very softly and without punishments. The dog should always have a choice and not be forced to do anything for avoiding punishment. Beside the "dog training" with my own dogs and other peoples dogs, I would write books, have courses, lecture and of course have a nice top modern website! It would be awesome to be someone that has left his footprints in the "dog world" and has made a difference!
Question 6 (week 11)
I'm not sure about this one, but it remembers me about an accident more than ten years back from now. I was out for the daily walk with my childminder and the other children. Suddenly one of them gesticulate something along the "stolpe that you push before the traffic lights turn green" and they all laughed. I never really understood what was so funny, but a minuit later I did the same thing (as I thought he did) and I pushed a button at the crossing. My childminder never yelled at me or something like that, she just (in a calmed way!) told me that I shouldn't run around and push buttons like that, because we weren't going to pass that crossing!
It all went so wrong, I just tried to make them laugh, but instead someone get angry. I was a very well-behaved child and never did something wrong, and what's more I thought this was a thing you could be arrested for. So I felt like the whole world had fallen apart and that my parents would be very disappointed at me.
When I came home that day, I thought my parents would be mad at me, or at least talk to me about it, but of course they didn't. My childminder hadn't even talked to them about it! Instead I started to "confess my bad deeds" and it all felt soooo much better after that. Actually, I remeber my mother saying: "Petra, you know that you can talk to us, about everything.." and since that day I really started to talk to them if there was something on my mind! It's always been easy to talk to my mum and my dad during my childhood, perhaps because I made the first step and because they very rarely get mad at me. If you just talk to each other many problems can be solved!
